Clint Eastwood directing 2 movies on Iwo Jima!
Did you all hear about Clint Eastwood's newest directing project?
He's making a WW II epic, telling about the battle of Iwo Jima.
It's actually two movies! One from the American side.
http://imdb.com/title/tt0418689/
And one from the Japanese side!
http://imdb.com/title/tt0498380/
That's awesome! Ken Watanabe is gonna star in the Japanese one. Wicked.
Any one else excited?

This is very, very groovy. It also saves on a bunch of cash (filming battle scenes from either end, etc..)
Though, I wonder if the Japanese language version will be released in the USA, and if yes, will it be subtitled and/or limited to an 'art house' run?

Well, he went from spaghetti Westerns to actually being at the place they were filming....good for him.
Hopefully the film is more good, than bad and ugly.
>< Corny joke I know.

Apparently the Japanese one will be in Japanese with English subtitles and yes it will be released here. A few months after the one with the American perspective.
