300

One of my buddies took me to the movies, and we say 300. My assessment of this movie is that it was perfectly awesome. Anyone else seen 300 yet?

Not yet it's on my list.

I saw it Friday. Enjoyed it quite a bit, but far more from the stylistic/visual stand point than anything else. Still, a great movie to end a week with; spectacular battle sequences and some amazing CG.

I liked it a great deal myself. Very stylistic, but you grow to expect that with Frank Miller after Sin City I think.

I enjoyed it as well. I could have asked for a little more story with my gory, but it was awesome nonetheless.

The Guardian.

Just, uh, pretend the Senior Cheif is being played by a REAL actor.

I saw 300 for the second time today.

I enjoyed it even more the second time. The first time I saw it, I was overwhelmed by the granduer of it all. It was an amazing movie visually and so very beautiful in a raw and visceral sort of way.

The scene in Xerxes tent was a masterful mix of grotesque and erotic. Leonidis breaking forward of the pack and attacking the Persians with the grace of a great and wild cat was brilliant and amazing.

I can't rave about this movie enough but I'll stop now.

Oh come on Cobalt, I'd like to hear what you have to say...

Anyway it thought the movie was one of the best movies(about a tactical battle) that I have ever seen. Although it took me three times seeing it to get over the historical inaccuracies. Beyond those, it was AWESOME!!!! I've always been a fan of the Spartans, they have been a sign of great strength for a long time...But my favorite thing about current greece is the fact that they have a Tank(i think its a tank, might be a gun) named after Leonidas...WOOT! And the traditional spartan saying is the motto of their Marine Corps.

Which traditional Spartan saying, pray tell? "We shall fight our battle in the shade?" "Come and take them?" "Tonight we dine in Hades?" Or something more in the line of Lycurgus - "Sacrifice or lose all?"

I think Sparky means "With your shield or on it".

Though "Molon labe" is apparently the motto of the Greek 1st Army Corps.

Nope, don't mean 'with you sheild or on it.' And yes Thorn is correct, 'Molon Labe'(I believe=Come and Take them?) is the Greek 1st Army Corps'. I beleive that's what I was thinking of... not sure, i'll keep looking

And I was wrong once again about the Tank thing, it's actually an APC.
