“I am writing this under an appreciable mental strain, since by tonight I shall be no more. Penniless, and at the end of my supply of he drug which alone makes life endurable, I can bear the torture no longer; and shall cast myself from this garret window into the squalid street below. Do not think from my slavery to morphine that I am a weakling or a degenerate. When you have read these hastily scrawled pages you may guess, though never fully realize, why it is that I must have forgetfulness or death.” ~HP Lovecraft, Dagon _________________

!The Milk Run!
War is not a game.
The men that coined the phrase “war games” might have thought they were being cute, possibly thought that their words were harmless, but the men and women that lived through war knew the truth. Win or lose, it was never a game.
When the SMS Cadets of Yankee 237 emerged victorious from their live combat simulation against the other 3rd Week Cadets, they hopefully emerged with a greater understanding of war and the consequences of it. Their instructors would not know for certain, not with the cadets still flush with victory. There would be no way to know if they understood that war was not a game until they lost.
The cadets of Yankee 237 were sent to the locker rooms to get changed into their uniform jumpsuits, still devoid of rank insignia and with Christina wearing the pins of a Cadet Commander, and then report to the docking arm to board the ship. As the Cadets of Yankee 237 approached, they saw the three lead cadets of Union 237 boarding the ship ahead of them, two SMS Cadets and a Commonwealth Space Navy Cadet…

Ethan Jasper Montgomery
8th Week SMS Cadet – Squad Union 237
Born to be Wild
Ethan heard the hatch open behind them and footsteps coming down the docking arm. Looking back, he saw the cadets of Yankee 237 coming towards them, all of them packed to ship out, carrying their duffels.
What the Hell?
He was torn between pleased that Anya was going to be on the ship for his final cadet mission and annoyed that they were bringing Yankee 237 along. They were one mission from graduation and now they had to complete that mission while babysitting the 3rd week cadets, not the most ideal of situations. He breathed a quiet sigh and then turned to face them, his expression serious.
“Welcome aboard the Madrigal. As the ranking SMS Cadet, you will be taking orders from me.”
It was something they should be accustomed to, since he had been their cadet liaison from day one. From all accounts, they were shaping up to be as good as his team and his team had set the new standard for the ‘hill. His gaze flickered across the cadets until he spotted the Cadet Commander pins on Christina Roberts. He was not surprised that she got them, she had the drive and the skill, but he was a little disappointed that Anya had not won them.
“This is my XCO* Lisa Rai-Linn.”

The Sweet Cousin
Lisa kept her face neutral but was inwardly pleased when she saw that Christina was wearing the command pins. She just wished that Christina were not about to receive the rudest shock of her life.
“While we are on this mission, you will carry yourselves with the discipline of SMS professionals, no matter what. It doesn’t matter if you’re family-”
She cut a look at Christina.
“-or if your parents are genuine heroes. If you can’t keep up, you’ll spend the trip in your quarters.”

Tyler Kelly
8th Week CSN Cadet – Squad Union 237
The Dark Side of His Father
Tyler stepped forward, his eyes on Christina.
“Hello there, trouble.”
He saw her go stony-faced and smiled, turning his attention to the rest of Yankee 237.
“I’m Commonwealth Space Navy Cadet Tyler Kelly, the Cadet Commanding Officer for this mission. In the academy, on this ship, and in the Fleet, SMS takes its orders from the Commonwealth Navy and you’ll be taking your orders from me.”
He stepped aside.
“Your bunkroom is on the port side, deck 2, room 2A and 2B. Get your gear squared away and then assemble in the main lounge for mission orders.”

Christina Marie Roberts
3rd Week SMS Cadet - Yankee 237
Too Much Like Her Father
Christina felt the deck beneath her feet tilt to the right, turn a half-circle to the left, and then it punched her dead in the face.
At least, that is what it felt like when she saw Tyler standing there. She barely paid attention to her cousin, she had known Lisa was around here somewhere and she was not looking for special favors. All her attention was focused on Tyler Kelly, a childhood friend, teen lover, and the man that pretty much single handedly ruined her life. She felt the old wounds rip open, felt the plague of regret and self-recrimination flood her, the half-forgotten tang of self-disgust for what happened between them, between her and Lisa because of him.
She swallowed her gorge and kept it together as he laid it out. This was not a nightmare, it was worse.
She was in Hell.
“Yankee 237, fall out, shipmates. Get your gear stowed and assemble in the main lounge.”
She held Tyler’s gaze a moment longer and then moved past him and onto the ship. _________________

Anya Vega
Sinfully Devious
With her duffle bag over her shoulder and a rather pleased grin on her lips, Anya followed the rest of her cadet team towards the docking arm where their 'Milk run' ship would be found, their chance at setting the record for newest cadet team to ever partake in the mission with the graduating class. While Anya knew that this was a great chance for them all, for their career and training, she would have been lying to herself if the prospect of spending a little more time with Ethan wasn't teasing her thoughts. She reminded herself that even though they would be on the ship together it wasn't going to be like some cheesy vid, that work would come before play. But there was still a chance of it.
Walking along beside Fenrir and Faith as the approached the docking area, Anya's eyes caught sight of Ethan as he turned to meet Yankee 237. She was sure she caught a flickering glance from him but as always Ethan dropped himself into business mode as soon as he spoke,
“Welcome aboard the Madrigal. As the ranking SMS Cadet, you will be taking orders from me.”
Standing at ease as he continued his address, Anya turned her blue eyes to the girl cadet of Ethan's class, someone called Rai-Linn. As if mirroring her own thoughts the XCO reminded all of Yankee 237 that professionalism would come first and foremost before all else,
So much for sitting on the captain knee,
Anya thought to herself, barely holding back a grin as another cadet walked into view, a familiar face from the last party she had attended at school, the night she had started her break with Ethan. That night seemed so long ago and the feeling from it still knotted Anya’s stomach, all from just seeing the poor guys face. As he passed through the ranks of 237, Anya caught a whispered word to Christina, to silent for her to hear but she was sure Tyler had said something to her friend and as he moved away from her, Anya saw what looked like shock on Christina's face. Keeping herself professional Anya turned to listen to the Space Navy cadet with the rest of her unit before being dismissed by him and back into her cadet commanders care,
“Yankee 237, fall out, shipmates. Get your gear stowed and assemble in the main lounge.”
Moving away with the rest of her team, Anya made sure to linger behind, subtly falling into line with Christina as they walked along. Even without a spoken word Anya could tell something was wrong with her, the casual air of confidence Christina had worn about herself even before receiving the command pins was missing,
"You ok Chris?"
Anya asked, her voice quiet but sympathetic to her friend as the walked along. |

Faith Haban-Jackson
Where the Wild Things Are
Much to Faith's dismay, there had been little challenge in getting the upper hand on the other 3rd week cadets and winning their ticket out of the beginhill in order to join Ethan's squad during their last graduation mission. She had been looking forward to it and, with luck, the credits they would receive might help her to get the affectation she'd been wishing for even before she signed up upon graduation.
If anything, she hoped that Commander Grimes would not be coming along. It would be good to be away from him for a while. She was not sure if he actually made it on purpose but the man managed to spook her every now and then. There was something about the way he behaved around them that was getting on her nerves sometimes.
She blinked, coming to a stop with the rest of her squad when the trio of cadet officers stepped into view and dropped her duffel on the floor by her side while the introductions were made, beginning with Ethan's welcoming speech. Her eyes moved from him to flicker over the other two when they spoke, a girl by the name of Rai-Linn who was his acting XCO and the Commonwealth cadet officer, a bloke called Tyler Kelly.
Faith frowned for a split second as her eyes came to rest on Christina. She had come to learn and appreciate the other girl's body language in the three weeks they had all spent together and she was pretty sure that something was wrong with her. There had been an odd faltering in her bearing when the Commonwealth cadet had come into sight and now she had just closed herself off behind an emotionless mask.
She made a point to wait until Christina dismissed them before dropping at the rear of their group along with the two other girls. If she was to make a guess she would venture that their dark-haired cadet officer had seen a ghost somehow and she could not help but be impressed by how she had managed to keep her voice steady and professional when she had sent them on their way.
She resisted the urge to roll her eyes at Anya's question, her attention shifting from Boobie Lady to Christina.
"We're here for you in case you need to talk or whatever", she grinned slightly before turning her gaze back to see where she was going, "It's not like you don't know where to find us anyway"
She paused a second before adding innocently, "I mean... Boobie Lady is hard to miss really..."
It was obvious that something had upset Christina but she was not going to pry in order to know what it was. If her friend decided to tell them she would listen, otherwise she would be just as happy to be there and help her deal with any troubles if needed. _________________ "Poly Tits? AWESOME! Mason A. Hastings
His Mother’s Son…
Mason was happy when the exercise was over. They had won and won it decisively. In the back of his mind, he was a bit jealous of Fen's rise to squad XO but realized that he had a bit of work to do in the future. Christina had her reasons and I can live with it...for now. I guess he has something that I lack...I may even ask her about it one day...
Following the exercise, their group was ordered to report to the ship for their reward. they would be joining the upper class men on their test flight and it was some sort of special thing for them to be there. Once they had gotten cleaned up and gathered their gear, he and Patrick fell in with the others and moved to the dock they were supposed to report to and were greeted by the Cadet Superiors.
After being informed of their place in the scheme of things, and were ordered to get settled in, he noticed something in Christina's voice when she dismissed them.
“Yankee 237, fall out, shipmates. Get your gear stowed and assemble in the main lounge.”
Mason hesitated for a second as he watched the girls surrounding Christina. They obviously had it handled, but he was concerned and for the moment, held his tongue. He turned and caught up with Patrick who could tell something was up with him too.

"You know she will never open up to you about it."
Patrick did not look at Mason as he walked. His face was straight and showing no emotion at all. He was not worried or concerned. Christina was a big girl and could handle herself just fine in his opinion. he could see Mason out of his peripheral and continued to walk.
"Besides...why would she even tell you anyway? She is a loner and you would only get in her way. I mean you weren't even a consideration to her for her second. Fen has her eye or one of the uppers. Just focus on your job Mason and graduate."
Patrick continued to walk and noticed his friend's expression change as he took a quick glance back at the female members of the team.

His Mother’s Son…
Mason was a bit shocked by Patrick's sudden sense of duty. he was the one making goo-goo eyes at a few of the girls the first day and more recently at the pool when he seemed to be mesmerized by Faith's poolside antics.
"Well...it doesn't hurt to be concerned for a team member you know. And besides...it doesn't bother me that the Commander recommended me and I wasn't chosen. Fen will do a fine job. I am right where I want to be. I just have a big heart is all. You can ask my sister, it has always been hard for me to...well...never mind."

Lt. Commander Jackson Grimes
The Yes Man…
Grimes arrived on deck just as the cadets began to cross over to the ship and called out to Ethan and his command crew.
"Greetings to you all. I see you have boarded my cadet squad. They are some fine cadets and I am sure they will soak up any tips and advice you see fit to share."
His expression was one of a proud father as he spoke and then continued.
"I also bring news that the prototype power armors will not be joining you on this voyage. There appear to be an issue with the development scheduling so they will remain here. But feel free to use the Messiahs on board for recon flights as usual and good luck and God speed to you all."
Jackson stepped back and saluted them. He hoped his cadets would make him proud. _________________

3rd Week SMS Cadet - Yankee 237
Too Much Like Her Father
Christina tried to chuckle at Faith’s joke at Anya’s expense but she choked on it.
“I’ll…”
She had to stop and take a deep breath. She had thought that she left it all behind her. She had been young and stupid. Stupid things had happened and they had broken up. Lisa had been part of that stupid thing but she and Lisa were cousins. She forgave her cousin almost immediately.
It was just the shock. She had to get over the shock. There was nothing between her and Tyler now.
“I’ll be okay. It was just… a surprise.”
She looked back and forced herself to keep walking, staying between Anya and Faith.
“I dated Tyler back when we were still in high school. He was my first love. The first guy I ever…”
She shut her mouth so quick her teeth clicked together.
“Anyway… I’ll be okay…” _________________

!The Legend!
The Instructor in charge of the mission, a lean and grizzled veteran, boarded the ship.
He let the cadets return Commander Graves’ salute and then sent the man off with a salute of his own. The man was a legend and he knew it.
Captain Pavel Young was in command of a military cargo vessel that was attacked by a pirate group on the edges of the Free Trade Zone. He fought off the pirates but his ship was too damaged to maintain life so he bundled his crew into a life pod and launched. They were adrift for four months but he kept all of his people alive.
The Commonwealth Space Navy awarded him the Parliamentary Medal of Honor.
Unfortunately, they also determined that the trauma of the experience left him unfit to command ships on independent duty. He was cycled into the Beginhill program, to teach the next generation the skills to keep them alive…

Captain Pavel Young
Indomitable Will
Pavel boarded the ship, pausing to touch the edge of the hatch. It was an old tradition but one he carried with him to this very day.
Lady… don’t fail me…
He boarded the ship and then looked at the cadets he was ushering towards graduation, the cadets that were his current protégés. He gave them a nod.
“I want us on schedule, Mister Kelly. Get us moving.”

Anya Vega
Sinfully Devious
“I dated Tyler back when we were still in high school. He was my first love. The first guy I ever…”
“Anyway… I’ll be okay…”
As Christina explained a little more behind the mystery that was her connection to Tyler, Anya frown sympathetically to her story. Anya knew all to well what a first love can feel like but it was clear from her reaction that there was little in the way of warm feeling like she had for Ethan.
"Well if you do wanna talk, k?"
Waiting a moment with her friend, Anya then turned to Faith and her previous comment. With Christina looking pretty down about the whole Tyler thing, the busty pink head figured the best idea was to change the topic.
"As for you, less talk about my tits ok? Talk about your own,"
She commented, waggling a finger in Faiths direction as a sly smile crept onto her face and she glanced down to Faiths own bust,
"Not there's as much to talk about. Jealously is a terrible thing honey."
Giving Faith a wink, Anya took a few steps away from her before turning with a smile and continuing the trek towards their assigned bunks. After a few more junctions and sections has passed them by, a slight but unmissable shudder passed through the ship as the docking connections started to sever. Stopping dead in her tracks, Anya took a second to let herself feel another of the vibrations before looking over at the others,
"I guess this means its to late to get off now, eh?"
She said with a grin. |

Christina Marie Roberts
3rd Week SMS Cadet - Yankee 237
Too Much Like Her Father
Christina felt the telltale vibration that meant they were disconnected from the Beginhill Academy starship.
It was a memorable moment, her first deployment, but the sudden revelation of Tyler’s presence had left her unsettled and conflicted. She knew that there was nothing unresolved between the two of them, nothing that they needed to talk about, but she dreaded the thought of possibly being alone with him.
She lapsed into a silence as Anya turned her attention to Faith and their comparative bust sizes and Faith’s seeming obsession with Anya’s boobs. She knew that her response was most likely not unnoticed by everyone but she hoped that the guys were smart enough not to ask about it.
She liked most of them and she’d feel bad about shoving her foot up one of their asses.
As the pitch of the vibrations changed and they accelerated away from the Academy, she took a deep breath and recovered her military bearing.
"They'd have to drag me off this ship," she said softly. "This is our chance." _________________

Faith Haban-Jackson
Where the Wild Things Are
Faith remained silent, frowning a little while Christina went on about the reason behind her previous reaction. It was something the younger redhead could not quite fathom. She also had had a first love, first times and more ex than she actually cared to count, but even after splitting up with the girl who had been her first love she had never been so gloomy when around her.
Her eyes shifted slightly as she spared a sidelong glance toward their squad leader and shrugged faintly. There was probably more to it but, once more, she was not going to pry. She had made her point across already and there was no need to add any emphasis on the fact she would be here for Chris if she needed help. That would be an insult to her intelligence.
Still, she could not help but wonder what had caused her shock. Faith had never shackled herself to her past and never held any regrets for what she had done. It was one of the reasons she was so blunt at times, it was better to say or do things when they needed to be said or done than spend the rest of your life imagining what could have been.
Her attention returned to the corridor and the back of the teammates that were walking in front of them. One thing was certain though. It had been the first time she has seen Christina so lost and vulnerable, a part of the other girl's personality that she had never shown to any of them before... and one that also made her terribly cute.
"Uh!?", Faith blinked for a moment before turning her head toward Anya as she spoke to her, "You're talking to me?"
"Err... I'm not really good at that girly talk thingie but I can try to make an effort for you... so yeah, right, sure, why not... but you can't deny the fact that they are an important landmark on any ship", she shrugged easily as her lips curled into an impish grin, "I could make rather dirty comments on the uses of big floppy ones but I'll restrain, promise"
"Not that I would mind doing some of those dirty things with them myself", she added slyly before the grin turned into an outright laugh and she winked to her pinkhead friend. She had to admit that Anya was gorgeous, even if she was not her type. She just lacked Madison's exotism and Christina's feline grace.
She blinked again as Anya stopped when the Madrigal undocked from the beginhill and started to move away. As far as she was concerned it had already been too late since their very first day at the Academy, that assignment with the fifth week cadet was just another step along the way.
With a thin smile, she turned to look at Christina. The 3rd week cadets had not been much of a challenge but...
"Say Chris", she wondered idly, "What do you say about showing them we're even better than Ethan's squad?"
She grinned. Now that would be a worthy challenge. _________________ "Poly Tits? AWESOME! Is that a new type of Boobies!?" ~Taokaka |

Fenrir Tobekashi
Bearing the Banner
Fenrir sat - his mouth agape - at the conversation between Anya and Faith. Now sure, he was better at dealing with women in general then most, but the sheer brazenness of their words and the fact they were both quite openly discussing each others boobs was shocking, even to him.
“What the hell?” he muttered more to himself then anything else as he sat, his arms folded neatly over his chest before looking to the side.
Catching Christina in the corner of his eye, he took his mind off the girls and looked at their new squad leader. Choosing him as her second was not unthinkable, but when the selection had been made, he was not sure he was ready for it. Command was a hard gig, and although he was not top dog, he still had to be ready to take over at any time.
Chris looked like she had something weighing on her though.
He said nothing, but his golden eyes were fixed on her. It was a look of concern and question all at the same time, and if she saw him, he was pretty sure that would be no doubt she would understand the question placed by such a look.
He was concerned, yes… but she was a big girl and their commander.
“We already beat Ethan’s squad when we got there two weeks ahead of schedule… A real challenge is being the company score card. If we can make cadet history, now there is something to brag about.” _________________

Where the Wild Things Are
Faith cut a glance across to Fenrir as she resumed walking, falling back beside Anya and Christina. After the time they had spent together, she had begun to consider the kid as a little brother. After all, he was the youngest of the squad and unfortunately for him, it had earned him the position of official mascot in her eyes.
She gave another easy shrug.
"We have only proven that we are better than they were in their 3rd week. It doesn't mean we are better than them now"
She snickered.
"I just meant that it would be nice to come out as the top squadron of this little jaunt" _________________ "Poly Tits? AWESOME! Is that a new type of Boobies!?" ~Taokaka |

Christina felt the ground getting firmer beneath her feet as she regained her center.
“Let’s not worry about beating them,” she said. “This is their mission. We’re here to observe and to assist. If we try to upstage them, we could mess things up.”
She looked between Faith and Fenrir, knowing that Fenrir had the right of it.
“We got here and everyone knows we’re the next squad to beat. So, we make Ethan’s team look good and we look good. Then it’s our turn.” _________________

Faith gave another easy shrug. There was not much she could do just by herself if all the others were balking at the idea anyway.
"That's fine by me", she replied before lapsing back into silence.
Christina was right though. As long as they could get credit for what they were going to do here, the young redhead was not going to complain. It would be far from glorious but it would definitely get her where she wanted to be.
Her eyes shifted to their dark-haired squad leader for a few seconds as a thoughtful pout formed on her lips before she stretched slightly, letting the whole matter get relegated into the past where it belonged. _________________ "Poly Tits? AWESOME! Is that a new type of Boobies!?" ~Taokaka

Patrick Zalla
SMS Poster Boy…
When the ship departed, Patrick felt the sudden shutter and paused to adjust to it before continuing towards the crew barracks and appeared to not be listening to the whole conversation going on behind him. That is until it turned to the various bust sizes and what Faith would like to do with a certain pair.
He slowed his pace a bit to get a better listen and when it turned to their purpose and goals for the flight, he continued to think about Faith's comments. There are a few things I would like as well...you really have changed Faith...from our childhood...

Mason continued alongside his friend and when the ship moved, he too paused momentarily. Guess we are finally underway... As they continued, Mason glanced over at Patrick and wondered why they had slowed down and then heard the reason. Figures...Perv...
“We got here and everyone knows we’re the next squad to beat. So, we make Ethan’s team look good and we look good. Then it’s our turn.”
When the conversation changed to their goals of helping Ethan's team to look good, his thoughts moved to how they could accomplish that. Mason half turned and cleared his throat before speaking.
"I dont mean to interrupt but...are we just to observe while we are here? Will we be doing any actual training here?"
Then his eyes moved to his sister who had remained uncharacteristically quiet through this whole conversation. He looked at her and gave her a subtle 'are you okay?' look and waited for her response. _________________

Christina shrugged.
“For the most part, it will be observation and some hands on, to assist, but this is more of an extended classroom experience.”
She took a deep breath and let it out slowly, getting back onto comfortable ground and bleeding off her tension.
“This is their mission. We’re along for the ride.”
When they reached their bunk rooms, she veered into the room on the starboard side and claimed one of the bottom bunks. She began stowing her gear in the closest locker.
“Get your gear stowed, Shipmates. We don’t want to keep the Captain waiting.” _________________

Faith Haban-Jackson
Where the Wild Things Are
"Aye, Sir", Faith replied with a sly grin as she dropped her bag on the other bottom bunk just next to Christina's.
The redhead had been rather silent for the rest of the way, apparently happy to confine herself to listening to her teammates chatter and idle speculations about what they might end up doing during Ethan's squad last mission. They would not know until the ship's captain had briefed them about the objective of the sortie anyway.
And with their luck, they might end up just flying escort duty.
She stretched, lifting both arms above her head before the right one bent over to grab her left elbow. Her gaze swept idly across the room, her eyes flickering slightly over Anya and Madison as the two other girls began to follow their leader's example.
With a sigh she turned back to look at her own bag, planting her fists on her hips as she glared at it for a few seconds before giving in as well. _________________ "Poly Tits? AWESOME! Is that a new type of Boobies!?" ~Taokaka |

Anya Vega
Sinfully Devious
Having caught a glance at the shocked look on Fenrir's face as her conversation with Faith had ended, Anya's smirk was still with her as the discussed the mission and their role as well as what they could see themselves doing while aboard the ship. The truth was, even with the prospect of facing potentially some gruelling challenges and lessons aboard the ship, Anya was excited about it, her chance to be close to Ethan the journey.
Following the others down to the assigned bunk rooms, Anya was one of the last to enter the room but continued to follow behind Faith as she looked for a bunk for herself. Letting her bag slip from her shoulder and onto the bed, Anya sighed for a moment as she let her shoulder rest without the added weight,
“Get your gear stowed, Shipmates. We don’t want to keep the Captain waiting.”
Glancing over to Christina, Anya gave her a small nod before turning back to her kit bag and sighing again. It had taken her ages to pack away all of her gear and now she needed to undo it, it just wasn't fair.
"How long is this little party meant to run for anyways,"
Anya asked as she glanced around the room at the others as she started to store her gear,
"How long do they normally run for?" |

Christina Marie Roberts
3rd Week SMS Cadet - Yankee 237
Too Much Like Her Father
Christina smiled at Anya.
“It’s a seven day flight. We’ll be 4th Week Cadets when we get back and we’ll be ahead of the learning curve by about two weeks. We won’t get out early but we will earn a service ribbon before we grad.”
She hung up her jackets.
“It will also fast track us towards our first promotion.” _________________

Patrick Zalla
SMS Poster Boy…
Patrick listened but said nothing. He felt his actions would be enough when the time came. Moving in the bunk room opposite the females, Patrick began stowing his gear in the locker he claimed and remained quiet.
He would look around to the others every once in a while but said nothing, not even to Mason who was in the bunk above him. A smile formed on his face as his mind returned to the pool that day and Faith...

Mason A. Hastings
His Mother’s Son…
Mason stood nearby Patrick as they packed their new lockers. He took notice of the smile that suddenly formed on his friend's face. Must be thinking about Faith again...and you call me hopeless...
Returning to his task, Mason thought more on their purpose here on this ship and decided to speak to Fenrir about it a little more.
"Excuse me Fen. If we are here to observe...will we be stationed on the flight deck or spread out all over the ship? I mean dont get me wrong, I am glad to be here. i just wanted to be sure as to what our function will actually be or should I just wait for the briefing later?" _________________

Fenrir Tobekashi
Bearing the Banner
Fen had been very quiet throughout the change over, all the way until Mason had asked him the question about what they were to do. Fact was he was thinking very seriously about the days to come and how that may reflect on the team as a whole. Not to mention he had acquired his father’s ability to look too deeply into situations, but that was not something he himself recognized yet.
“I am guessing some of the missions will be hands on, where we actually run backup for the flight. Other times, we will probably be sitting in classes with them or acting as reserve pilots if any of them get sick.” Fen added with a shrug.
“Fact is we will not truly know what to expect until the mission briefings come. All I can say is that we should be ready for anything. Personally I am keeping a notebook and pen on me at all times.” He added and patted his pocket, showing the two items there.
When he finished stowing his gear, he checked it over, helped check whoever else had finished and then looked back at the door.
“Now we just have to wait for Chris to give us the go ahead.” Fen added thoughtfully. _________________
