I've been playing with the idea of running a D&D game online for awhile, and I wanted to put out some feelers to see how many people might be interested. Anybody want to play some D&D?

I certainly don't know pretty much anything about the D&D universe, but I'd be keenly interested on playing.
I even think I have the character for the task at hand. Her stats are The Window-configured though. XD

Pick me! Pick me! I would love to play D&D online.

Depends on format, setting, and the same problems that plagued my participation in Cobalt's Star Wars game - to wit, I check the MRC out of habit and that can't be said for a second site.

I'd be interested. problem is I don't know the rules of the newer versions of D&D...

While I would suggest at least getting the players handbook, the system is now simple enough that you can play without it. However, you may sometimes find yourself at a disadvantage if you don't have the book.

While I would also suggest getting the actual book, you can gain the rules only information from here:
http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=d20/article/srd35
The System Reference Document for Dungeons and Dragons 3.5. All of the stats with none of the flavor. (Which is why I still suggest getting the actual book, more flavor.)

omg, I think I just fainted from a lack of oxygen. I held my breath when Coldfire told me about this, but I am ok.

Repeat...only this time ti's me.

I haven't played D&D in years. I'd like to give it a try if you still have space. Will it be a game world of your own creation or one of the already established ones (Forgotten Realms, Greyhawk, Eberron, etc)?

It is a world of my own creation, and it seems like there is enough excitement to warrant a game. Depending on how many people are interested, I may run multiple parties. Moderating D&D is much less taxing than moderating Palladium.

Again, though, specifics on format would be nice. I'm not really available for voice chat or IRC, for instance, but I'm cautiously interested.

Please, count me in as well.

It all depends on what system your going to use, 3.0 or 3.5 would be easier for new players to learn. I personally prefear 2E or 1E. Regardless count me in it sounds interesting.

Just letting everyone know that I've started transferring information to the MRC, and I will have a place set up to run a D&D game here at the MRC within a week or two.
So far we have these people interested:
Azazel
Coldfire
Thorn
Jouby
Sparky
Xuric
Camk4evr
Sabre
Cobalt
Abzerosteel
Ten is too many for a single party, so I'll be planning two seperate parties with 2-4 openings. If we get more than 6 more people interested, I actually have a third story arc ready to go.

Everyone who's interested in this game and posted here, PM me with information about what kind of character you think you'd want to play. For the moment, limit information to class and plans from expanding on class. Assume that starting characters will be level 3. I'd like to get an idea of what we'll have to work with and what we still need to get.

Let me narrow it down to one character idea, it may be a day or so before I get to you.

I've been meaning to ask (but kept forgetting to do so) but is it standard races only (elf, human, half-elf, dwarf, gnome, and half-orc) or are certain non-standard races allowed (ie half-ogre, dark elf etc.)?

There will be more documentation regarding campaign specific options once the game forum opens, which is why I asked for desired class only. However, I will say that there are other options besides the core classes, which include: Lizardfolk, Ogres, Goblin-kin, and Taurens. Bear in mind that these options have level adjustments that will affect how many starting class levels you can have.

Good news everyone. I've put in some time posting up campaign information on a hidden D&D board. Players who have sent me a character concept will get early access to this forum in a few days.

erm I'm a little late (as usual -.-) but.... ist there still some room for an experienced D&D player?
Since some time me and my friends live in different cityes and this makes it nearly impossible to get together for the nice eavnings playing D&D so this idea sounds really nice

It looks like we may have room for another 2-4 players.

For those of you who have sent me your character concept, you should now notice a new forum at the bottom of the MRC for D&D character creation.
