Roleplaying using Google Wave?

Found this interesting article from SlashDot today.

http://arstechnica.com/gaming/news/2009 ... yed-dd.ars

Its kind of an interesting read, and based on what I've played with on Google Wave, its very similar to our old style message boards where we had conversations in threads.

I don't have any invites available, but if someone else does would you like to do a roleplaying test?

My Wave address is: [email protected]

This is very interesting, both in that it can supplement our play style and that it can replace it.

if someone has an invite they can send, I'd love to try it out.

I was thinking similar things Xuric.

But I've also been looking at the Wave Gadget Tutorial to see if we couldn't integrate some nifty things like an independent dice rolling system, or even an more automated joining system.

The possibilities are very nice either way, even if the coding is currently over my head.

I have about 16 invites myself.

There is a diceroll gadget for Wave that I happened to see on an article, which I thought would be cool for some D20 fun.

Do you have the ability to share? I would really like to sink my teeth into this thing. 8)

Xuric, oddly enough I still don't have invites :(

As soon as I do, if you haven't gotten one from Flare I'll get you one.

Flare, I found the following DiceRoll Templates:

https://wave.google.com/wave/?pli=1#res ... BeDRGxAAiN

I'm not sure if that link will work outside of a wave, but its worth chance. Its cool as heck, and I'll try and test it out some with your wave.

It should work. I haven't had a chance to test it yet.

ok, I'm in. :)

The whole setup seems awfully like a few email clients i've seen, but the features integrated are above and beyond.

I really like the Dicelink system, though not sure I really like the method. I think i'd rather have some kind of extension either embedded into the Wave, or added to each person's browser... Not that my character sheets are particularly private-property, it just feels weird to have to submit it to a third party...

working on a db-bot for us, but it's slow going. I've got it responding, but it seems to quit whenever more than one person is in the wave...

The bot is working great (we named her Bridge Bunny BTW).

Now to just recruit some players.

SO.... Limited time only campaign (through January 15th), comes with a free Google Wave Account (I have 28 invites left right now).

Campaign: Firefight

The Captain has been left with little or no choice. With your backs against an expanding sun straining to go SuperNova, he escaped to the closest cover he could find, the abandoned astroid belt of a dyeing star system. In front of you, a fleet of unknown baddies that seem to hope you'll stay in one place long enough to either get ate by the star, or line up in their sights. Your resources? VF-25's that are older then dirt, a half dead stealth destroyer, and a pair of pissed off twins with bright green hair who go through way too many missiles.

Either fight through the fire, or die. You're most likely going to die.

What I need:

- An Email Address you want your Google Wave Invite sent to
- The name of a throw-away character
- Your desire to test out something new knowing that your GM is in the middle of the 4th quarter retail website madness, and has a tendency to roll up camp and depart in the middle of the night

BTW, did I mention this will be the first campaign outside of the ill fated "From Ruin" campaign I've tried running last year? I hope Dicebot is rolling 20's for everyone...
