The next new TV Anime based on the Macross property will be Macross Delta as announced in a meeting today with Shoji Kawamori. He hesitated to give full details as there will be an event named "'Chō Jikū' Seisaku Happyōkai" ("The Super Dimension" Production Unveiling) — a live-stream that will reveal more details on the project — October 29 at 12:00 p.m.

One of the interesting part of the analysis that came out of the interview and information so far is that Macross Delta will go back to being a planet based "Valkyrie vs. Valkyrie" plot vs how Macross Frontier focused on space. With the modern logo for Macross Delta presented, its noted that the triangle is broken, with a chance that this Macross will not be the usual Music / Love Triangle / transforming fighter planes we're used to.

Either way, looking forward to what we see out of this project!

Foxxy pointed me to the article yesterday and we were discussing the VF models. Really looking forward to see what the Draken inspired VF will look like and I do like it how Kawamori kept the blue vs red theme

Now if only I could convince him to get Gackt to do the OST...

I really like the idea of focusing on the "Valkyrie vs. Valkyrie" idea. I loved Macross Plus and Zero for that, even Macross 7 was great for the Varuta fights. Giant eggs with legs and space squid were ok and alien enough but there is a simplicity with the mirror match between VF against VF. The article told us very little of the plot or even a rough idea of time when its set but I'm very excited about this.

Thought it was a hair sailormoonish but has promise. The new Variables look pretty cool, animation is crisp and characters seem interesting.

Magical Girl Macross might be interesting. I watched the preview but am reserving judgement for now.
