History: VF Fighter and Bomber squadrob flying off the UNS Valhalla. This team plays a supporting role in the Hollywood Knights stories.
The Phantom Blades are sometimes referred to as "Powell's Birds", after their former CO, the now deceased Major Powell Mandrin.
The Phantom Blades had a long and proud tradition as a rapid response squad in the Macross-15 fleet. Under the command of Major Powell Mandrin they transfered to the Beginhill-15 to serve as a combat squad. During the rescue of Beginhill Cadets, the entire squad was decimated with the CO Major Alice Parker the only survivor.
In ~2049 the Blades are reformed as a combat squad aboard the UNS Valhalla with Major Alan Redgrave in command.
