RPG STATS: DRAFT

(note this is really just a stripped VF-19 basic Package, care of Deitrich)

Craft Summary (Jarod Matthews)

The YE-19 ElintSabre is the pinnacle of theatre command operations, this refit was made to provide a single squadron with the communications relay, sensory, and command capabilities of a starship and provide them in the package of a Variable Fighter. The result was based off of a VF-19 of course.

The most distinctive feature of the craft is the BCS/BDI system, which allow the pilot to control the actions of the fighter with his mind. With this system, a disciplined pilot can do the work of an entire C3 staff. This also allows the fighter to control the Shadow assault and defense drones, which is the next new system. The Shadows are drones that extend the capabilities of the fighter. These drones carry the majority of the armament of the craft, and also their own sensor systems that give them recon abilities. The FAST packs and other sensors of the craft are not especially special, but they contain the highest technology detection systems, allowing the craft to cut through the efog of warf. Not wanting to limit the craft to needing a transport to deliver it to the target zone, a new fold sledf is being developed. It attaches to the front of the fighter, it actually acts to reduce the stresses of going to fold, allowing older spacecraft to use the system when the technology has established itself.

NOTES:

  1. Destroying the head of the YE-19 will knock out the mecha's major sensor systems, including all of the optics systems (infrared, nightvision, thermal). Radar and communications will be unaffected.
  2. Depleting the MDC of the main body will destroy the mecha. The pilot and cockpit section/escape pod will be automatically ejected from the doomed fighter before it explodes by the mecha's main computer.
  3. The pinpoint barrier shield regenerates at a rate of 50 MDC per round. Even if completely destroyed the shield will regenerate within 2 melee rounds. The shield is usually generated on the right arm of the YE-19.
  4. Sensor Packages are key the YE-19 functional capability, destruction of these can seriously intterupt the effectiveness of this craft.

WEAPON SYSTEMS:

  1. QAX-01A Semi-Automated-Assault-Drone `Shadow`A new system was advocated to give an Electronic Warfare VF additional firepower while bringing down the risk to the mech. Based on the technology of the ghost, the drones have some traits in common. Two variants of the shadow are available, one with a beam cannon and one with a missile launcher. Shadows are mounted on the tops and bottoms of wings, with four shadows mounted total, these drones are designed in the style of the VF-17 Fast Packs, allowing them to be stealthy when attached. Soon after entering the theater, the pods are launched and orbit the fighter.

    • Craft Type: Escort Drone
    • Class: VE-19 Assault/Defense Drone
    • Manufacturer: Trident Armament Corporation, and Raven Corperation
    • Crew: None, the drones follow the host fighter.
    • MDC: Main Body 100
    • ATMOSPHERIC FLIGHT SPEED: Mach 4.0+ (2680 mph/4082 kmph) max speed at 10,000 meters or less above sea level. Mach 5.8+ (3886 mph/5916 kmph) max speed at 10,000-30,000 meters above sea level. Mach 25+ (16,750 mph/25,500 kmph) max speed at 30,000+ meters above sea level, for a maximum of 5 seconds. The shadow is capable of achieving orbital velocity over an Earth-class planet without additional rocket assistance. Maximum rate of ascent is 68,000 meters/minute. Structural G limits are +40.0 to -25.0 Earth gravities. Note: The shadows cannot hover in place like a VF and must maintain a minimum speed of 100 mph (152 kmph) to remain airborne.
    • STATISTICAL DATA:Length: 18 ft; Weight: 2324 kg empty
    • POWER PLANT: One Thermonuclear Turbine Engine.

    • Primary Purpose: Assault/Defense
    • PRIMARY PURPOSE: Assault/Defense
    • MISSILE TYPES: Any type of Short Range Missile can be used.
    • RANGE: Varies with missile type, typically 2.5 miles (4 km).
    • DAMAGE: Varies with missile type, typically 2D6x10 M.D.
    • RATE OF FIRE: Volleys of 1 to 3 missiles.
    • PAYLOAD: 18 missiles.

    • Type 2; Beam System(PARTICLE BEAM CANNONS)
    • PRIMARY PURPOSE: Anti-mecha
    • RANGE: 1 mile (1.6 km).
    • DAMAGE: 2D6x10 M.D. per blast.
    • RATE OF FIRE: The beam cannons can be fired twice per melee round.
    • PAYLOAD: Effectively Unlimited.

    • SYSTEMS OF NOTE:
    • TARGETING RADAR: The radar of the shadow is linked to the host craft, but it is independent for situations when it might be some distance, or the fighters radar goes out. The range of the radar is 100 miles.
    • LASER TARGETING SYSTEM: Range: 100 miles (160 km). Used for increased accuracy in the striking of enemy targets and is partly responsible for the shadow's strike bonus.
    • OPTICS: INFRARED: Range: 2000 feet (610 m). This optical system projects a beam of infrared light that is invisible to the normal eye, but detectable by the Shadow's sensors. The system allows the shadow to detect hidden/concealed objects by their IR reflectiveness. The beam will be visible to anyone with IR sensitive optics, however.
    • OPTICS: NIGHTVISION: Range: 2000 feet (610 m). A passive light image intensifier that emits no light of its own, but relies on ambient light which is electronically amplified to produce a visible picture.
    • OPTICS: THERMAL IMAGER: Range: 2000 feet (610 m). A passive optical heat sensor that detects infrared radiation projected by warm objects and converts that data into a false-color visible image. The system enables the shadow to see in the dark, in shadows, and through smoke, and also adds a +10% bonus if the shadow is trying to track a ground-based target.
    • SCRAMBLER RADIO COMMUNICATION: The drone is equipped with a long range, omni-directional communications system with satellite relay capabilities that allows it to stay in contact with the controlling fighter. The signal is encrypted so that it cannot be intercepted by an enemy (and then used to take control of the shadow), but it can be jammed by ECM systems. If the shadow looses contact with its controllers the drone's AI system will automatically engage. Range: 600 miles (960 km) or can be boosted indefinitely via satellite relay.
    • SELF-DESTRUCT: To prevent capture of the drone by the enemy, the Shadow is equipped with a self-destruct system. When detonated, the craft will generate an explosion that will do 3D6x10 M.D. to everything within a 40 foot (12 m) area. The Shadow will be completely obliterated by the explosion and will not be salvageable. If the Main Body MDC of the Shadow reaches 0 the AI will automatically activate the self-destruct system.
    • STEALTH CONSTRCUTION: The shadow is designed with special materials and angled surfaces in order to help decrease the crafts radar reflection, thus allowing it to help not draw attention to its host. These features provide a constant +2 to initiative rolls made during combat by the shadow. Note that this is a PASSIVE stealth system, and not an active one like a cloaking device. The +2 initiative bonus will continue so long as the aircraft is functional.

    • COMBAT STATS
    • 8 culmunative Attacks per Melee (8 actions total must be shared between all drones)
    • +2 on initiative plus stealth bonuses
    • +5 to strike
    • +9 to dodge
    • +5 to roll with an impact, reducing damage by half.
    • Critical strike on an unmodified roll of 18, 19, or 20.
    • Full-speed Ram - Does 1D4x100 M.D. to BOTH the Shadow fighter and the target. Used as a suicide attack only, also, the attack is only initiated by the pilot or in the event of the destruction of the host craft.
    • Sources: Ghost Drone fighter, Conserax Probe

  2. HOWARD GU-15 EXTERNAL GUN POD: The main weapon of the YE-19 is the GU-15 Gun Pod produced by Howard Industries. The gun pod is mounted on a special hardpoint below the Excalibur in fighter mode, and is hand-held in gerwalk and soldier modes. Unlike the gun pods used by the original VF-1 Valkyrie, the GU-15 uses clips of ammo instead of a self-contained supply in the barrel of the gun. Two spare clips for the GU-15 are mounted on the back of the YE-19's bulletproof shield; replacing a clip takes two melee actions and can only be done in Gerwalk or Soldier mode.

    • PRIMARY PURPOSE: Assault
    • SECONDARY PURPOSE: Anti-mecha
    • RANGE: 4000 feet (1200 m)
    • DAMAGE: Does 4D6 M.D. for a short burst, 1D6x10 M.D. for a long burst, or 2D6x10 M.D. for a full melee burst.
    • RATE OF FIRE: Equal to the number of combined attacks of the pilot.
    • PAYLOAD: Each clip holds 400 rounds, equal to 40 short bursts, 20 long bursts, or 10 full melee bursts.

  3. BIFORS ALL-ENVIRONMENT HIGH-MANEUVERABILITY MINI-MISSILE CLUSTERS: The legs of the YE-19 are equipped with two concealed missile launcher bays, that can each hold up to 24 new high-maneuverability mini-missiles from Bifors in each bay. (NOTE: These are NOT the medium-range versions of the high-maneuverability missiles seen in Macross Plus #1). When armed, the missile launcher assembly rises out of the leg units, allowing all 24 missiles to be fired at once if necessary. The missiles can be fired in any mode; fighter, gerwalk, or soldier. Any type of mini-missile can be used in the launchers, but usually only the Bifors high-maneuverability mini-missiles are used.

    • PRIMARY PURPOSE: Assault
    • MISSILE TYPES: Any type of standard UN Spacy Mini-Missile, or the new Bifors high-maneuverability mini-missiles.
    • RANGE: 1 mile (1.6 km).
    • DAMAGE: 1D4x10 M.D.
    • RATE OF FIRE: Volleys of 1-24 missiles per launcher, per round. One volley counts as one attack. If necessary, all 48 missiles (!) can be fired in a single round by expending two attacks.
    • BONUSES: +3 to strike, +1 to dodge.
    • PAYLOAD: 24 missiles per launcher; 48 total.

  4. BODY/WING HARD POINTS: Two fixed hard points are mounted on the fuselage of the VF-19, a total of 2 hardpoints on the fighter. These hardpoints can be used to hold a variety of different ordinance types, including long, medium, or short range missiles, or Bifors' medium-range high-maneuverability (MRHM) missiles. One long range, one MRHM, 3 medium range, or 5 short range missiles can be mounted per hardpoint. Usually long range or MRHM missiles are used.
  5. NOTE: Due to the location of the hard points, ALL missiles must be fired or ejected before the YE-19 may convert into soldier mode. For this reason the hard point missiles are usually fired within the first few passes of an attack.

      • Payload: Five per hardpoint; up to 10 maximum.

  6. HOWARD PBS-03F PIN-POINT BARRIER SYSTEM: The YE-19 is equipped with a new mecha-scale pinpoint barrier system for defense. The system can generate a single pinpoint barrier that can be moved anywhere on the mecha and used as a shield against incoming attacks. The barrier provides 100 MDC of protection, and regenerates at a rate of 50 MDC per round when damaged. Even if destroyed by combined attacks, the shield will regenerate itself within 2 rounds. In order to use the shield, the pilot must make a successful parry roll to intercept an incoming attack.

    • Primary Purpose: Defense
    • Protection: 100 MDC total
    • Regeneration Rate: 50 MDC per round.
    • Size: The barrier can be up to 10 ft (3 m) in diameter.
    • Duration: Unlimited.

  7. HAND TO HAND COMBAT: If necessary, the YE-19 can engage in melee combat rather than use a weapon. The AVF is extremely agile and can execute most typical hand to hand combat moves, such as punches, jump kicks, leap attacks, rolling with impacts, etc.

    DAMAGE:

    • Restrained Punch: 1D6 M.D.
    • Full Strength Punch: 3D6 M.D.
    • "Booster" Punch: 5D6 M.D. (counts as two attacks)
    • Tear or Pry with Hands: 2D6 M.D.
    • Kick: 2D4 M.D.
    • Leap Kick: 3D6 M.D.
    • Body Flip/Throw: 1D6 M.D.
    • Body Block/Tackle: 2D6 M.D.
    • Stomp: 2D6 M.D. (only effective against small objects)

STANDARD EQUIPMENT FOR THE YE-19:

  • ACTIVE/PASSIVE STEALTH SYSTEMs:Active stealth system on the YF-19 Elintsaber is nearly identicle to the stanard system. However, due to the craft advanced systems and addition of the `Shadow` pod technology introduced the Elintsaber is capable of `extending` the area of effectiveness of its active steal, up to an area of XXX. the shadow systems must be active and operating within said area. the bonuses of active stealth pass to any and all craft within the area of effect. this includes craft that do not have passive or active stealth as well as the Pods themselves. this effect is superceaded up any other debilitating or stealth penetrating effect due to its tentative nature.

The Big black out; This is a short term effect that uses the Elintsabers C3 tecnology and active steal to full advantage. Using a network and control over neaby mecha the elintSabercan generate a giant Active stealth `sphere` as long as there are at least 5 other vf-19 and or vf-22s present within its shortrange communications area. This is the same as the effect described above; however this may generate a much larger sphere of effect, However, this is a heavy systems drain and requires teh full concentration of the Pilot of the ElintSaber, thus no actions must be performed by the ElintSaberpilot

Designed with special materials and angled surfaces in order to help decrease the radar reflection. These features provide a constant +2 to initiative rolls made during combat. Note that this is a PASSIVE stealth system, and not an active one like a cloaking device. The +2 initiative bonus will continue so long as the mecha is functional.

  • AUTO-PILOT: The auto-pilot can be programmed with a single destination or a complex flight plan involving multiple speeds, directions, and destinations. The onboard computer will alert the pilot when the fighter is near its destination, and can also be set to automatically signal when sensors detect objects near the mecha.

The ElintSaber is capable of overriding the autopilot in other Variable fighters and Small space craft, this effect forces nonmilitary craft to fall out of autopilot(include fold space if activated there) and or redirecting the craft. The elint saber also has the ability to `lock` a craft into a predestined target. However this may be overridden `manually` by a capable programmer.

  • COMBAT COMPUTER: The VF-19 is equipped with a Pair advanced AI combat computer that can store and analyze data during combat with hostile forces. Data collected by the combat computer can be displayed on the virtual environment cockpit of the mecha (see below), which allows the system to display large amounts of data to the pilot and even highlight enemies and missile attacks with overlaid graphics. The combat computer tracks and identifies specific enemy targets, and has a database of over 15,000 images stored in memory. The computer can identify and track up to 4000 targets simultaneously, this data can be simultaneous broadcast to a relavent source capable of recieving such data. The ElintSaber may also be capable of producing `predictive` enemy movements similar to that of Cruiser and Battle ships, allowing the pilot to produce battles plans on teh fly and command troups from an informed position. The enormous amount of data that the Elint saber may handle is far beyond the capability of a single human to process and alot of it is `filtered` and presented in bult packets through the BDI system, These packets may be broken down, and analyzed however, on command. Any and all data my be transferred to nearby units, and any data on nearby craft may be recieved and added to the network. The actions of the QAX Drone fighters accompanying the YE-19 are also controled by the pilot, however, the combat computer may be given full control over the drones and they will act in accordance to pre programmed defense simuls.

  • COPILOT SEAT: Single seater, the copilots seat is the location of the BDi-BCS system as well as the added hardware to control the various highly computer dependant sytems.

  • ESCAPE POD: The entire reinforced cockpit of the YE-19 is a detachable escape pod that can be jettisoned when the mecha is destroyed. The ejected cockpit does not contain thrusters, but does contain a powerful locator beacon and an integrated life support system that can support the pilot for up to 24 hours after ejection. The pod is also equipped with parachutes in case of ejection in an atmosphere. The combat computer is programmed to automatically eject the escape pod if the mecha is destroyed (main body MDC reduced to 0), but this can be overridden if the pilot is feeling suicidal for some reason.

  • EXTERNAL AUDIO PICKUP: Range: 300 ft (91.5 m). A sound amplification system that can pick up normal conversation up to 300 feet away.

  • HEAT AND RADIATION SHIELDS: Special shielding prevents the penetration of life threatening head and radiation. A radiation detection and alarm system are linked with the shields and will sound an alarm if there is a rupture in the shields and what the levels of radiation are.

  • HOMING SIGNAL: The escape pod of the YE-19 is equipped with a homing device that enables rescue teams to locate a disabled craft or ejected life pod. The range of the signal is 400 miles (640 km). Most UN Spacy ships and variable fighters can locate and track homing signals, and the onboard computers will automatically notify their pilots if such a signal is detected.

  • LASER TARGETING SYSTEM: Range:(800) 1000 miles, Used for increased accuracy in the striking of enemy targets and is partly responsible for the mecha's strike bonus, the extensive range of this system is blurry at the edges (the 800 to 1000 range of information may be complete due to degradation of the signal)

  • LOUDSPEAKER: A loudspeaker system is built into the craft, which can be used to amplify the pilot's voice up to 90 decibels.

  • OPTICS: INFRARED:Range: 2000 feet (610 m). This optical system projects a beam of infrared light that is invisible to the normal eye, but detectable by the mecha's sensors. The system allows the pilot to detect hidden/concealed objects by their IR reflectiveness. The beam will be visible to anyone with IR sensitive optics, however.

  • OPTICS: NIGHTVISION:Range: 2000 feet (610 m). A passive light image intensifier that emits no light of its own, but relies on ambient light which is electronically amplified to produce a visible picture.

  • OPTICS: THERMAL IMAGER:Range: 2000 feet (610 m). A passive optical heat sensor that detects infrared radiation projected by warm objects and converts that data into a false-color visible image. The system enables the pilot to see in the dark, in shadows, and through smoke, and also adds a +10% bonus to pilots using a tracking skill.

  • RADAR: 800/1000 mile range

  • RADIO/VIDEO COMMUNICATION:Long range, directional communications system with satellite relay capabilities. Range: 600 miles (960 km) or can be boosted indefinitely via satellite relay, this satelite relay includes other craft with communication systems, and may include both military and nonmilitary sources for relay, this may include enemy craft as well. The elintSaber is not restricted in the number of communication channles that it is cabable of opening at one point in time and may transfer both radio and video feeds to single and multiple target craft. The elintSaber is also connecting craft that normally would not be able to communicate directly,

Anti-Com Measures. Blanket Blur; the elintSaber is cabable of producing a complete communications blurr, distorting any and all communications into a meaningless blah of formless images and or useless sounds. Though this wil not redirect or disrupt current communication directions/connections. This affects all craft with comm range(including satelite relay)

Communication Chanle shutdown take over; the ElintSAber is cabable of focusing on multiple simple channles or singlular complex channles and redirecting the comminucation destination/data to suit another specific source or destination. the elintSaber is also capable of targeting a single commincation and simply shutting it down.

  • OPTICS: WIDE-SPECTRUM SENSORS:Range: 2000 feet (610 m). This new active/passive optical system is able to view and project light from any portion of the visible and invisible spectrum, from infrared to ultraviolet and everything in between. Among other things, this system allows the pilot to see in the dark or through smoke using infrared, through water or fog using ultraviolet, and even detect heat emissions from concealed targets. The sensors can use either an active or passive scanning mode. In active mode, the YF-21 actually projects a beam of light (visible or invisible) and views the reflection off objects. In passive mode, the sensors simply receive data without emitting light. Active mode provides more detailed pictures, but passive mode reduces the risk of detection by IR or UV sensors. The system provides the pilot with a bonus of +10% when tracking or trying to detect an ambush. Results of the scans can be viewed either on HUD displays or using the BDI system.

  • SELF-DESTRUCT: To prevent capture of a variable fighter by the enemy, the pilot can activate the YE-19's self-destruct system, which will cause the fighter to explode after a delay of up to 60 minutes (time is set by the pilot). The explosive damage is contained within a 20 foot (6 m) area and inflicts 1D6x10 M.D. to everything within the radius of the explosion. All internal systems are obliterated. The escape pod will be automatically ejected prior to the explosion unless the pilot overrides the ejection sequence.

  • STANDARD SURVIVAL KIT: All UN Spacy VFs come equipped with a portable survival kit. Inside the small reinforced box is a medium-sized flashlight, two hand flares, one rocket flare, a compass, infrared distancing binoculars, a small mirror, a pocket knife, dehydrated and concentrated food (can be stretched into a five day supply for one person) and basic first aid items (aspirin, bandages, disinfectants, etc.)

  • TACTICAL LIFE SUPPORT SYSTEM: The YE-19's cockpit is pressurized, and also provides additional air feeds to the pilot's flight suit that provides him with pressurized breathing. The UN Spacy flight suit also contains an upper and lower g-suit that promotes blood circulation even during high-g turns, thus decreasing the possibility of pilot's blacking out in combat.

  • VIRTUAL ENVIRONMENT COCKPIT(BDI/BCS):The YE-19 is equipped with a Full operation BDI/BCS cobination system. The pilot is completely immersed in the system when the VF is operational. All control occurs from this location, `visual` targeting and confirmation are all via fiberoptic camera relay positioned about the craft, the rendency factor of this cameras cover a 360 dgree field of vision even after (up to) 50% of the exterior has been damage. However, the need for viual confirmation is minimal, The YE-19 can read the local space via its advanced sensor equiptment as well or better than an visual means. The YE-19 gets a +1 to dodge and initiative rolls in addition to any other bonuses.

YE-19 EXCALIBUR COMBAT TRAINING

  • 4 attacks per melee (plus those of the pilot)
  • +2 on initiative (+5 when using Active Stealth System)
  • +3 to strike (+4 when using Active Stealth System)
  • +4 to parry
