May I suggest a gremlin?
Ooh, oh my lord I have just the perfect vehicle!
The short yellow bus..
This would prove to give him quite a few quirks to work out...like...
If an enemy comes by, he can not transform right away....as the children inside would become quite squishified.
~And no, I don't know much about this topic. All I know, is a little about Optimus prime, and then the beast wars show that came in the mornings. Mew, I did love the old transformers.

But the question is... does Disney own the rights to the 'old' style bug, or both it and the new style?Halo wrote:Then the big question is, what car should he be? Can't be a VW Bug as long as Disney has exclusive movie rights with them (for the Herbie movies).
And still better than Starscream being a Police Car IMHO.
And, as far as I'm concerned, Bumblebee should be a Yugo or Trabant or some other little tiny foreign car.

What? They're worried people will be offended by their gaining a government contract to design and produce Der Kubelwagen? Realistically, the only way a civilian company can survive in such circumstances in a dictatorship IS to work for the government, no matter how vile that feels.Nomad Soul wrote:Actually the reason he's not a bug is because Volkswagon is very weary of being associated with anything warlike. (E.G. Transformers with guns)
Some sort of thing about being worried that people will be reminded about their involvment in helping Germany during WW 2.
And why a big boat of a car, or a Bronco? Bumblebee just doesn't strike me as being a "big" name, you know?

Here's a CG of Optimus Prime tranforming (not from the movie though)
The official teaser trailer has been posted to their official site here: http://www.transformersmovie.com/
It was down last time I checked (big shock), but there is a lower quality version here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dFsjxPkw0Qk
Don't get too excited . . . it's just a teaser.

Well... looks good. Steven Spielberg is backing it so it will be good when it shows for real. Can hardly wait, I have the original transformers in a box somewhere.
