Macross on PSP

Post by Halo »

This popped up on my Gametrailers Video Podcast feed, and although I doubt it'll ever be released in the west, one can hope.

Looks interesting, but with all these generations crmmed together I doubt there's much of a story mode ... feels more like a mecha fighting game than the kind of story-focused game I'd want from Macross.

So just received the import of macross ace frontier and threw it into my PSP, and I've got to say, awesome game:). If you've played any of the Gundam Battle games for the PSP, M.A.F. is same game engine, can transform and everything and build up stats for your pilot. Defiantly recommend this to any fan with a PSP and 2 weeks of patience for US Customs!!

So, does PSP allow imported games normally, or do you need a custom kit for that?

Some people *cough* could just download it if they have a 'special' PSP. :P

It allows imported games. Apparently PSP and DS games are not region coded

that is correct even with the latest Sony firmware for my psp i can still play imports. The only barrier is the language one but most games have a fair amount of English, so with a touch of trial and error you figure things out pretty quick. I've imported most of the gundam games for PSP and now this macross one which is still far better than i expected.

This is probably the only reason why I should buy myself a PSP. But then again, as Halo earlier stated, only if it's hopefully ever released in the west.

The game is actually -alot- of fun. You can unlock almost every mech in the entire Macross line up, In fact I laughed pretty hard when a Zentradi tried to take me on with a Lead pipe.

Some people might get dizzy during some of the City levels, but those ones are my favorite *likes riding up along buildings in gerwalk* This game is a must grab for anyone who likes Anime,Macross, or just has thumbs.

I'm in agreement with Foxxy, unlocking many VFs including the VF-0S and VF-27 'Lucifer'. Also after beating threw the story for the UNS you get to use the enemy's suits for some story modes. Battlepod isn't all bad!

I also just unlocked SDF-1 for use as a unit, big slow but fun and can transform at my will!

Only complaint from me is no VF-4 from what I've seen
Besides that i rate the game a solid 9.5/10 ((.5 being the lack of VF4!))

I'm not sure to be honest, i can tell you I have gone threw all 4 of the time lines missions for the UNS side at least and have C-S rankings on all of them. If i knew the exact mission I'd defiantly share it with you. It may have also been from an 'EXTRA' mission I did? Because there's one where you have to fight both the SDF and Battle Frontier. Sorry i cant be much help on this one :-?
