Happy 4th to Everyone (American)!

Post by BEAR »

As you all know, the 4th of July is when the British mercifully gave you great colonists back that huge slab of land, due to boredom and maintainership fees.

Now you can celebrate your gratefulness that your British overlords gave you back your freedom with explosives and alcohol.

OR!

You can ignore me and just have a really great day.

Happy Independence day everyone! (Seriously!)

Maybe my history is a little askew.

Perhaps the 4th of July is the celebration of when America invaded Berlin with Mecha?

Nah, that's sometime in May, and even I can't keep track of that day.

Chuikov? Zhukov? Steiner?

I suspect I'm in over my head on this one. :P

Yeah. It was definitely the Russian that was the commander at the Battle of Kursk (largest mecha battle in human history, BTW), and I just saw a documentary about it... damn. Too many documentaries.

Anyhoo, on the 4-7-2009 front (to put it how you euros put it) people are still trying to blow stuff up outside my house.

On the american front, I am considering exercising my right to bear arms...

Oh, if you mean who led the Russians into Berlin, it was Chuikov and Zhukov. They got into a bit of a fight about it; Chuikov got there first, but Zhukov was, at the time, Stalin's fair-haired boy. Steiner was the commander of what passed for German defenses.

And to put it in perspective, I still carry around boxes of sparklers from 2008 in my car. They're my emergency road flares.
