Dropbox Malfunction

Post by Sabre »

My dropbox connection appears to be malfunctioning. Any idea how to resolve this?

Are there any error messages or is it just not connecting?

And are you connecting through the website or are you using the desktop app? If the latter I'd look to see if there is an update.

I don't us dropbox all that much anymore, other than hosting some files now and again, so I don't have it installed on my desktop, just my phone.

No error messages or warnings. My hosted images just stopped displaying on the MRC. Same goes for most of Cobalt's. The image for Ash is gone.

Files are in Dropbox and are working. According to a pop-up message on my phone this site (MRC) is blocking third party cookies.

Hmmm… Unless Lanji changed some settings, this sounds like fuckery on Dropbox’s end.

*deleted these since it’s working now*

Tried a new sample image a couple different ways, and doesn’t appear like any are working.

The linked images still work, just not the embedded images, which I think happened a few years ago as well. I forget what exactly the fix was but we got things working again. I feel like it was Dropbox changing the way they addressed images which made it not show up as embedded, but rather a link to viewing the image on their site.

At my end nothing changed. Came in and while I was updating some images for a couple of campaigns I want to run for 'Stang; noticed the images for previous posts were gone.

Yeah. The small headshots are still not showing up for me on the posts either, but for the ones that have “hidden” images, those links still work.

Hi everyone!

Thank you for the email Cobalt, I'm going to be looking a bit more on this later.

But the quick diagnosis is that the browsers and the two sites themselves are behaving as expected due to HTTPS restrictions. I'm receiving Mixed Content not allowed warnings, as in the images start with http and the MRC site is using https.

I'll see what else I can dig up later today.

Hi everyone,

I finally made it back to the site this evening to find that it sounds likes things are working again. I did see several warnings about cross http/https images, but I'm glad that the dropbox image fix appears to be working.
